CAC retakes 4000 levels
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The French equity index, CAC rose above 4000 levels today, supported by gains in Technology, Automobiles, and Travel and Leisure stocks.
The CAC traded 0.40% higher at 4021.30, compared to the previous session’s close of 4005.38 levels. The index breadth is positive with an advance-decline ratio of 29:11. The CAC Techno Hardware index is up 1.07%, followed by a 0.92% gain in the Automobile index. The Travel and Leisure index has gained 0.98%. Meanwhile, Oil and Gas index has weakened 0.13%, while the Financials are down 0.26%.
Among stocks, shares in Gemalto are up 3.42%, while shares in Orange are up 2.87%. Saint Gobain stock has gained 2.67%, along with 1.5%-1.86% gain in share prices of Valeo and Accor. On the losing side are shares in Societe Generale and Vivendi, each down in the range of 1.3%-1.00%. Other losers include Vinci, Technip, and Legrand.
CAC Technical Levels
The index has an immediate resistance located at 4047-4051 levels, above which gains could be extended to 4118.50 (Nov. 4 low). Meanwhile, support is seen at 3951.50 and 3933.16 (Oct. 15 low).
