ECB would not miss ELA support even if Greece misses IMF payment - Hadelsblatt
FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the German business newspaper Handelsblatt reports, the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) would not immediately cut the liquidity assistance to Greece even if the country fails to make payment to the IMF.
The report says the ECB could still allow the Greek banks to receive emergency liquidity assistance in the event that Greece misses a payment. The ECB would assess the risk, but a failure to make payment by Greece would not automatically terminate the Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA).
