US stocks bounce back; Nasdaq sets record close

FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks rose sharply on Wednesday, reversing most of the previous day losses in a quiet session with no major economic releases and Greek headlines driving investors’ sentiment.

Hopes of a Greek deal lifted optimism, while tech stocks outperformed and sent Nasdaq to a record level.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 121.45 points, or 0.7%, to 18,162.99. The S&P 500 gained 19.28 points, or 0.92%, to 2,123.48. The Nasdaq Composite added 73.84 points, or 1.47% and closed at a record of 5,106.59.
