USD/RUB weaker, drops below 64.00

The greenback remains weak across the board during the second part of the week, with USD/RUB now breaking below the 64.00 key support, session lows.

USD/RUB lower on Brent gains

The pair is retreating for the fifth session in a row today, coming down to test sub-64.00 levels, or fresh 3-week lows following a now increasing selling bias around the dollar and extra gains in crude oil prices.

In fact, the barrel of Brent crude is up more than 1% around $48.70, adding to Wednesday’s advance and in turn sustaining further the RUB rally.

USD/RUB levels to watch

At the moment the pair is losing 0.45% at 63.84 facing the next support at 63.41 (low Aug.18) followed by 62.75 (low Jul.14) and finally 62.04 (low Nov.4 2015). On the other hand, a break above 64.60 (20-day sma) would aim for 65.97 (high Sep.1) and then 66.29 (high Jun.14).
